Continuing on the food kick

How about a recipe for homemade granola bars? I got this one from my friend Amy. She made them when we went camping way back on Memorial Day weekend. I finally remembered to get the recipe from her. I just finished making them. They are now sitting in the pan waiting to be cut.

2 cup oats
3/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup crushed peanuts
Combine and toast in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, in saucepan combine:
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
4 Tbsp butter
2 tsp vanilla
Cook on medium heat until sugar is dissolved but don't boil.
Mix with nut mixture (you can add in 8oz of dried fruit if you'd like) and press into greased jelly roll pan. Let harden a bit before cutting into bars.
Delicious!!
