52:5

Week 5 of Project 52.
The theme was black and white.

When I first started thinking about this theme,
I realized I never think in black and white.
I never put much thought into what makes a great black and white photograph.
But that is all the farther I got with my thinking and before I knew it it was Thursday morning!
 :)

We woke up to heavy fog on Thursday morning and it had snowed all day on Wednesday.
Fog is rare in our area. It allowed me to get pictures I otherwise would not be able to get.
In the morning, I took a walk down to where I thought I could get some cool pictures.
They weren't as cool as I thought, but on the way back I spied this...

This is a picture I could not have gotten on any other day.
It's part of our neighborhood.
Typically you'd see house lining both sides of the street.
That morning, they were all hidden by the fog.

I took the long way to run my errands that morning looking for more photo ops.
My 5 year old was very disgusted with me.
"Mooommm! This is taking forever! No more pictures!"

I had to be careful where I stopped because the roads are narrow (with steep ditches)
and the fog was still pretty heavy.

I'm obsessed with snow covered fences.

I saw a neat photo op with some horses in a field but it was too sketchy to stop,
so I settled for...

a few cows instead.
I would have loved to crop this picture better or get in closer but
there was a barbed wire fence running right below this frame.
I tried a few with it in there but it spoiled it.

Cruise on over to Amber's blog to see her take on this week's theme.

Your pics are dreamy! I especially love the last shot. I imagine they are scenes most people do not see because they are not adventurous enough to brave the cold! :D
