Note to Self:

If you would like to fall asleep before 1 am, do not have a cup of coffee at 8 pm and/or do a tae bo workout at 10 pm. It just doesn't work. (The workout was totally worth it though!!)

I will be entertaining friends all day today so hopefully they don't take my yawning personally. I wonder what they'd think if I handed them a pair of blinders when they walked the door so they won't notice the mess? Sigh!! It's the story of my life!! As soon as I'm done here, I'll do the mad scramble.

After all...

Once I did fall asleep, my dreams were filled with magnets and light switch covers. Talk about sweet dreams!! I have a stack of each sitting on my desk waiting to be completed.

I woke up to find that these babies need to be sent on their way to Iowa.

I'm just about done slurping down a cup of coffee (with too much creamer, blech!) so I better sign off, lace up my tennies and hit the floor running!

You all be good today. Do something today that makes you happy!!

Where has the day gone?

Geesh! Could time slow down, just for a bit? Here it is, already suppertime and I still haven't had a chance to update today. We went camping this past weekend and as usual I have mountains of work to do.

In the interest of time and potential boredom, I'll spare you the rundown of the weekend. I'll just say that we had a lot of fun despite the cruddy weather. I'm sure the people we went with were wondering how they found themselves out in the cold with a family of cranks. I feel like we (our family) all whined the entire weekend. So be it!

This is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend. We were on our way back home and stopped at an overlook to have one last bonfire and roast some hotdogs. I love the view from this point!!

I got two packages of lining fabric to use for pouches from fabric.com this afternoon. Our almost-five year old got to open the packages and take the stickers off each piece. (quite a treat for her!) She then decided to lay them all out on the floor and roll each one into a pulla. (A type of Finnish coffee cake of sorts. She made them one time with my sister and it was a total hit. She "makes" them out of anything that she can roll up.) I love how her tongue is hanging out of her mouth as she concentrates on her pulla.

Shhhh!! Don't tell my husband that I did find a few minutes today to put together this pile of magnets. It honestly didn't take me very long and I've been itching to do it for a week now. I've been wanting to make more magnets out of some of the quotes we've used for signs. Cross that off my to-do list! Yay!! Now I have to remember to snap pictures of them tomorrow morning.

One night at church I was given a starter for Amish Friendship Bread. I've tried making it before but have lost interest after day 5 or so. She happened to be standing next to me so I handed it off to her and told her it was her "baby". She was pretty pleased to have a project to do all by herself. Today was baking day (only two days late, due to camping). I did help out with adding the ingredients to help keep the mess to a minimum. Her brother was quite green with envy and now wants to do his own loaf. We'll see, his attention span for this sort of thing isn't as long as hers. I'm quite impressed with how well she did with it.

I still want to know if it was the Amish's (is that how I would say it?) idea to add the instant vanilla pudding on baking day or if is was someone else's. If so....how in the heck to they know about instant vanilla pudding? (What can I say, I'm a skeptic!)

Well, there goes my day tomorrow!

I had planned on able mabeling it all day tomorrow until I was informed this evening that two of my husband's nephews are going to come over for supper. Hmmmph...what to make for dinner? I'm thinking along the meatball line. Either Swedish meatballs or spaghetti and meatballs. I suppose that means I better get my house straightened up and the floor washed, at the very least. I'd hate to have the walk in the front door and not be able to take another step because their feet are stuck to the floor. I know I don't have to fuss too much but how clean our house is still reflects on me. Who knows if they'd even notice but still I will.

I was reading in the forums tonight about how important it is to add tags to your blog posts. It's how the search engines find you. The thought of going back in and adding tags makes me tired. It sounds like work.

I got busted for blogging the other day about hubby hovering over my shoulder. He read it and then gave me grief. Guess I deserved it!

Tonight he hovered, watching me put together some magnets and light switch covers. This time I didn't get writers block (maybe it was because I wasn't writing anything.). I don't mind that kind of hovering.

I still get a chuckle every time I read this sign that JB made a while back. Me and my dry sense of humor.

Speaking of weight, it's time to go feed my husband his "fat pills" (the guy is skinnier than a rail!). A cup of ice cream with milk before bed. It's my turn to dish.

Ready for a spew of

pictures?

My friend came over today to model some aprons for me. I think I ended up with mixed results...

We started off with the half aprons. The lighting was okay, not great, but not horrible. My original thought was to go outside but is was so windy I thought the house was going to blow over! I was having a hard time picking up some of the dark colors so I changed the focus setting on my camera. Only to have the full aprons come out a little too dark. Sigh! Will I ever learn?
I've tried monkeying with this one but I think I'll have to do it a little more. It's such a bummer when I was using a model other than someone in my household. I may just have to call them "good enough". ugh. This one wasn't so bad...

Then we moved onto some towels. I'm not sure if I'll use this one. I feel like I'm falling off a cliff and the towel is the last thing I'll ever seeeeee...

This morning I finally took some coaster pictures. I even got this set listed, imagine that!

Then I dug into the stack of magnets JB sent along with the aprons. She had them all backed on some pretty paper. I still have to try find the time to get them listed as well. (can you tell we love birds! ;) )

So much to list, so little time. I'm kidding, kind of. I'm still craving a chance to sit down to sew again. Tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow.

My household is full of screeching kids at this moment. The 6 year old tickled the 4 year old so much she peed her pants (and is screeching about it), the 3 year old can't get his shoes on (and is screeching about it), the 2 year old want to go in the tub with her sister (and is screeching about it), the baby is overtired (and is screeching about it)....if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right? I think it's about time for their father to make his grand entrance, don't you? Hopefully he's not screeching too.

To top it off, the phone is ringing. (the 6 year old answered it and brought it over to me. He said, with a gleam in his eye, "It's someone who is already talking, can I just hit the end button?" I nodded my approval and with a huge cheese on his face, he hit the button with great gusto and sauntered back to the kitchen.)

Time to throw my hat in for the day. Sounds like my family needs me about now.

Sometimes the title fails me...

unless I have a good idea of what I want to write about. But today I don't so...proceed at your own risk.

I spent the afternoon yesterday taking pictures of light switch covers and magnets. We literally have a bucket full of each. I want to spread them out between our Etsy store and our Lollishops site. Can't list new products if you don't have the pictures to go along with them! Thankfully my camera battery died before my baby woke up. I guess 259 pictures wasn't so bad! Here are some shots:

I checked in on the treasury at about lunchtime today and noticed the number of lists were getting down there. I was thinking that I should attempt to get a treasury...turns out I was peacefully snoozing when they opened. Woke up and the number of lists were back to 600 something. Oh well, the nap felt great! (my baby has been a little fussy lately. I'm not sure what her deal is. Any extra sleep at this point is a bonus.)
